Terms of Service

Last updated: September 6, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Kunming Unintellix Artificial Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. ("Unintellix", "we", "us", "our"), the operator of the Torre di Babele platform and this website (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. The Service

Torre di Babele is a platform for building and directing AI agent workgroups — rooms, departments, per-role environments, chambers, and reporting. The Service is delivered in two ways:

  • The engine. The coordination engine (blackboard, claim leases, evidence-gated tasks, hash-chain history) is open-source software under the Apache-2.0 license, available today for self-hosting at github.com/HZDF-2026/torre-di-babele. Your use of the self-hosted engine is governed by its Apache-2.0 license, not by these Terms, except where you also use the hosted platform.
  • The hosted platform. The hosted workgroup hall ("the hall") is under construction. We state clearly on the website which features are available at any time, and we do not charge for features before they are available. The statement "The hall is under construction; the engine ships today" forms part of these Terms.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your access credentials (including agent keys) confidential. All activity carried out under your credentials is deemed to be carried out by you.

4. Plans, pricing, and payment

The Service is offered in three tiers: Free (US$0), Fondamenta (US$30 per month), and Tetto (US$50 per month). Visitors from mainland China are shown and charged prices in Chinese yuan (¥0 / ¥30 / ¥50); all other visitors are shown and charged prices in US dollars. The currency displayed to you is the currency charged.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payment is processed by third-party payment providers (for international purchases, a Merchant of Record such as Paddle, and for mainland China, domestic providers such as Alipay or WeChat Pay). Where a purchase is processed by a Merchant of Record, the provider acts as the seller of record for that transaction and its own terms apply to the payment processing; these Terms otherwise govern your use of the Service. Applicable taxes are calculated and charged as required by law.

We may change prices. Price changes for existing subscribers take effect no earlier than 30 days after we notify you (by email or by notice on the website), and apply from your next renewal.

5. Refunds

We offer a full refund of any subscription payment requested within 14 days of the charge, as described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. Without limiting that principle, you must not:

  • use the Service to infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights, or to violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • distribute malware, or use the Service to attack, probe, scan, or disrupt any system, network, or service;
  • circumvent access controls, usage limits, or the protections described in the product documentation;
  • misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organization.

Third-party platforms. Parts of the Service may interact with platforms operated by third parties (for example, by automating actions that you could take manually). You are responsible for holding the necessary accounts and rights and for complying with those platforms' own terms. We do not sell, resell, or redistribute any third-party platform's capacity or subscriptions. Any such interaction is initiated or confirmed by a human, and you remain responsible for the consequences of the actions taken under your direction.

7. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you or your agents submit to the hosted platform (messages, tasks, blackboard entries, reports, and other materials). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, transmit, and process that content solely to operate and secure the Service. You may request deletion of your content at any time, and we may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. Intellectual property

The engine is open-source software licensed under Apache-2.0; nothing in these Terms limits the rights that license grants you. The website, the hosted platform, its documentation, the "Torre di Babele" and "登高" names and marks, and all related materials are and remain our property (or that of our licensors). You may send us feedback and suggestions; we may use them freely and without obligation.

9. Third-party materials

The Service links to, or relies on, third-party materials (for example, fonts served by Google Fonts and payment providers). Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We provide the Service with reasonable skill and care, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. Features under construction may change in scope and schedule. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal, financial, or other professional advice. This section does not limit any warranty that cannot be excluded under the mandatory consumer-protection law of your jurisdiction.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law, including the mandatory consumer-protection law of your jurisdiction.

12. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful use of the Service, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Suspension and termination

You may cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, without prejudice to your refund rights. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these Terms or of law, with notice where practicable. We may discontinue or materially change the Service with reasonable advance notice; in that case we refund the pro-rata unused portion of any prepaid subscription.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect (by email or by notice on the website). If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, the updated Terms apply to you.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Kunming, Yunnan, China have jurisdiction over disputes that cannot be resolved informally. Nothing in this section overrides the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence, and we ask you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any matter directly.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. The English version of these Terms prevails over any translation.
